The crew at East Falls' new Fork & Barrel (4213 Ridge Ave.) is keeping busy with some cool fall events and news at their candlelit bar. The newly opened second floor is pumping an entitely different concept: Cask Saloon, an American, turn-of-the-century-style pub. Head over now for two (of what eventually be four) American casks, as well as 20 different bottles of American craft beer. They are doing sample flights of the bottles on weeks. The food at Cask Saloon features 16 specialty hot dogs (!) and loads of peanuts. Live jazz will eventually be offered up there to round out the American experience. Fork and Barrel is also rolling some events this fall:
- Wednesday, November 17, 7 p.m. | Lee Marren of Stone Brewing will host a $30 four-course meal of four different of specialty hot dogs paired with a firkin of smoked vanilla porter and bottles of 10.10.10 Vertical Epic Ale, Stone San Diego Co. Session Ale, and Double Bastard Ale.
- Thursday, November 18 | Owner Brian Ewing is hosting an 12% Imports Epic/Rare beer and Murray Cheese tasting. Brian will be bringing 11 new very limited beers never before seen in the U.S. This is a ticketed event  with limited seating. $65 per person. Email forkandbarrel@gmail.com for your spot.
- November 24 | Fork and Barrel will be tapping an a rare firkin of a collaborative brew between Dogfish Head and Italian brewers Birrifico le Baladin and Birra del Borgo in honor of Thanksgiving Eve. Only five have been released in the States, according to F&B's Twitter. - Tuesday December 7 | A five-course meal with the small Norwegian brewery "Haand Brewery" (Haandbryggereit). (Meal Ticket picked up a bottle of their Norwegian Wood at Brew recently.)
