European barbecue beer dinner at Ladder 15

We're totally biased towards chef David Ansill, we admit it. We'd eat lightly sauced street pigeon if he was the one serving it, so it's no surprise we're super stoked about his upcoming beer dinner at Ladder 15 (1528 Sansom) on Tues., May 11.

Local Duvel-Moortgat rep Megan Maguire is bringing in some big Ommegang beers to match the assertive flavors of Ansill's signature European barbecue plates-for-two. Roasted pig, grilled skewers of duck hearts and veal kidneys with bacon, braised and grilled rabbit legs, braised oxtail on the bone and linguisa sausage will be paired with Ommegang Rare Vos, Abbey Ale, Hennepin and more, including the brewery's new limited-edition Belgian-style Pale Ale (BPA).

Two seatings of the dinner will be held at 6 and 8:30 p.m. $60 per person (including tax, not tip) scores you a sharing plate of barbecue complete with grilled onions and marinated veggies, as well as the five Ommegang brews on draft and a dessert pour of bottled Three Philosophers. Tickets go on sale today; call Ladder 15 at 215-964-9755 to purchase.
