Five big Philly nominations for the James Beard Foundation Awards

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010, 7:30 PM

Back in February, we were hyped over the slew of semifinalists for the James Beard Foundation Awards our fly food scene produced. Now the nominations have dropped, with five local stars in the running for four majorly major categories.

Stephen Starr goes on the shortlist (again) for Best Restaurateur, while newcomer Bibou makes it to the hyper-competitive Best Restaurant category. Michael Solomonov of Zahav and Jeff Michaud of Osteria are both in it for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic, a honor won by Jose Garces last year. Vetri gets their third nod for Outstanding Service.

You can scope the competition when you download the .pdf of complete nominees at JamesBeard.org.
