Freshii opens Dec. 15 Jan. 3

In September, we mentioned that Freshii, the "earth-friendly" café concept that has an East Coast presence in L.A., New York, D.C. and Toronto, would be opening in the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton. We've got word that this Philly outpost will open to the public next Wednesday, Dec. 15 Monday, Jan. 3. Freshii locations, which offer healthy, easy-to-execute dishes like burritos, salads, wraps and rice bowls, can operate without hoods, ranges, ovens or dishwashers; they bolster their eco-conscious mission statement further by offering packaging and utensils that are either recyclable or biodegradable. Also, CEO Sumeet K. Goel kinda calls us fat in a press release: "This is the 5th largest media market in the US," he's quoted as saying, "but has there are surprisingly few healthy eating options compared to many other large cities." Whatever Goel! OK fine that's totally true, but whateeeeevvvvsss brah Drew Lazor Posted 2010-12-10 13:11:16

I dont think he means to call anybody fat, but as someone who lives in Philly, I kind of agree that there are not many places we can find healthy food.
