Healthy eating concept for the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton

Freshii, an international healthy/green franchise brand with stateside locations in Chicago, D.C. and Denver (nine more cities on the way, too), will take over a portion of the retail space in the The Residences at the Ritz-Carlton, a company rep confirms. We'll update here with a timeline as it comes into focus.

[...] In September, we mentioned that Freshii, the “earth-friendly” café concept that has an East Coast presence in L.A., New York, D.C. and Toronto, would be opening in the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton. We’ve got word that this Philly outpost will open to the public next Wednesday, Dec. 15. Freshii locations, which offer healthy, easy-to-execute dishes like burritos, salads, wraps and rice bowls, can operate without hoods, ranges, ovens or dishwashers; they bolster their eco-conscious mission statement further by offering packaging and utensils that are either recyclable or biodegradable. Also, CEO Sumeet K. Goel kinda calls us fat in a press release: “This is the 5th largest media market in the US,” he’s quoted as saying, “but has there are surprisingly few healthy eating options compared to many other large cities.” Whatever Goel! OK fine that’s totally true, but whateeeeevvvvsss brah   Freshii opens Dec. 15 [...]
