Courtesy of Iannelli's Nearly a year ago, we told you about the expansion plans afoot at the venerable Iannelli's Bakery in South Philly (1155 E. Passyunk Ave.). Owner Vince Iannelli checks in with news that the project is about "97 percent" there. The front of the space is now much more browsing-friendly (above). They've begun offering soups, panini, salads and meatball sandwiches on the weekends in addition to their usual Italian bakery goods; their espresso machine should be arriving any day now. Keep an eye on their website (iannellisbakery.net) for further menu developments.
