- Though the rock 'n' roll border bar ambience and décor are on point, Trey Popp finds that El Camino Real's Tex-Mex cuisine could use some fine-tuning.

- David Snyder lets you in on the well-kept (until now) Chinatown secret that is Q.T. Vietnamese Sandwich. Partners Annie Tran and Karen Thai are doing big things with little banh mi (Vietnamese hoagies), which are both tasty and easy on the wallet.

- In Feeding Frenzy, I've got info on Chifa, Bar Amalfi, the expansion plans at the Sidecar, why you may soon see Giwa Korean food in your local supermarket and where and when in Philly you can find one-of-a-kind Egyptian specialty koshary.

- What's Cooking, Nikki Volpicelli? A cheap three-courser at Lacroix, a guest chef at ZoT, a great lunch deal out in the hills of Manayunk and more.
