- A.D. Amorosi sets off our internal wurst alarm with his preview of Kelly Schmitz and Doug Hager's Brauhaus Schmitz, now aiming for a June 27 opening at 718 South Street. Good Teutonic times, here we come!

- The word "banana" in the name of a restaurant is often a terrifying prospect, David Snyder lets on but there are exceptions, like Rod Millwood's Blue Bananas Caf, where the island grub is both tasty and tastily priced.

- Lauren Fleming may very well convince you to clear your itinerary for the next week, as What's Cooking has word of a Tom Colicchio book signing, an all-local pancake breakfast fundraiser, word on where you can be served by Bobby Flay himself and more.

- Feeding Frenzy's got the skinny on four forthcoming eateries: Fish, Paul, Zama and Percy Street Barbecue.
