Kibitz Room, which opened at 1521 Locust in the spring of 2009, has been taken over real estate broker Allan Domb and converted into Schlesinger's — still a Jewish deli, but now run by Louis Barson of Merion's Hymie's. The deli, which is open now, is in the process of being updated (new booths on the way); they've also expanded hours to seven days a week, beginning at 7 a.m. for breakfast and running through 8 p.m. for dinner (takeout, delivery and catering too). Here's Schlesinger's menu (PDF), which now includes an expanded sandwich lineup (burgers, four kinds of reuben) and various entrées.

I remember HymieÂ’s being pretty good when I was at St Joe's. Mazel tov to the new owners!
