Lunch, brunch and happy hour at Slate

Didn't know Laurentiu Muras' Slate (102 S. 21st St., 215-568-6886) served lunch until we dropped by this afternoon for a quick bite. Turns out they've been serving midday eats (Monday to Friday from 11:30 to 2:30) for about a month and a half now the offerings are the same as the dinner menu's, just sans the entres. Was definitely feeling this curried crabcake sandwich (subbed out garam masala fries for a side salad). Slate also does happy hour ($3 Yuenglings, $5 mixed drinks, $4 Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio) weekdays from 5 to 7 and Sunday brunch from 11 to 3.
