New brunch menu at The Wishing Well

Carmen Cappello at The Wishing Well (767 S. Ninth St.) has debuted a new brunch menu. The menu's an attempt to go a little easier on the meat and offer more vegetarian options, like the new pumpkin bread French toast served with cranberry compote (you can now also order pumpkin bread as a side) and a create-your-own omelette feature. But for the meat-loving crowd, options still abound, including a SHAME omelette (an eggy version of their scrapple-topped SHAME burger) and "The Hangover Bowl." Described as a "bowl of gluttony" by barback Erik Endsley, it's layered with comfort food: grits, smoked cheddar, bacon, roasted tomato, home fries and a couple soft-poached eggs, all covered in sawmill gravy. Brunch is served from 11 to 4 on Saturdays and Sundays, and for that real hangover cure - keep drinking! - get the brunch special: $25 gets you a brunch entrée and endless Bloody Marys or mimosas. Menu after the jump. Click to enlarge Tweets that mention New brunch menu at The Wishing Well :: Meal Ticket :: Food Blog :: Philadelphia City Paper -- Topsy.com Posted 2010-12-17 14:16:31
