Bistro Evviva (1236 Montgomery Ave, Narberth) is now open — or rather, re-opened. The bistro is housed in the great room of the historic mansion that's been used exclusively for events since the late '80s after operators closed the original Evviva Restaurant. Chef Abde Dahrouch is the man behind the French/Mediterranean menu for the newly renovated 50-seat dining room — he's the former chef of Taquet in Wayne, as well as La Terazza in Miami. Dahrouch is currently serving his menu in soft-open mode before a grand opening event to be held later in the fall. Dish highlights include salmon tartare with quinoa, capers, red onion, lemon and microgreens; pan-seared striped bass with Brussels sprouts, Jersey plum tomatoes and tapenade; and kobe beef bolognese over spaghetti with sweet peas and porcini mushrooms. Bistro Evviva has a full bar, but patrons are welcome to BYO ($5 corkage). Hours are Monday to Thursday from 5 10, and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 to 10:30. Cash/check only.
