NOW OPEN: Chris' Taco Stand

T for Temple U. , U-niversity... TACOS! Chris Allen has just pulled up Chris' Taco Stand on the corner of 12th and Norris, next to the Engineering Building and across from the Boyer College of Music/Tyler School of Art on Temple’s campus. An Owl alum, Allen polished his cooking chops at the French Culinary Institute before working at Tinto. Dude also knows his cheese (that is evident by the awesome queso fresco he grates over your taco before handing it over) and has worked as a cheesemonger at Di Bruno Bros. here and Murray’s Cheese Shop in NY.  Chris’ shares a kitchen with a stable of Philly’s favorite trucks, including Honest Tom’s, Renaissance Sausage and the upcoming Far From Home. Chris’ menu is super straightforward, flavorful and cheap. Tacos are $2.50 each or $6 for three; quesadillas for $5 and burritos are $6.  Sides top out at $2.50 for black beans and rice, and Mexican sodas are yours for 2 bucks.  (Check out the full menu after the jump.)
