If you're still mourning the sudden loss of The Falafel Factory, the Rittenhouse Square falafel supplier that fell off the map last fall, Falafel Bar (1513 Chestnut St.) is here for you. Situated a few storefronts down from Five Guys, they're bringing Mediterranean flavor to Chestnut Street's row of quick-service eateries. In addition to falafel sandwiches served on whole-wheat pitas (or your choice of wrap or baguette), they're doing salads, panini, platters and Mediterranean specialties like grape leaves, borekas (phyllo stuffed with cheese or potato) and baklava. BONUS: They carry grape Fanta, the soda to end all sodas. While you're there, stay a while and admire the large mural on the eastern wall, a one-point perspective illustration of a colorful, lively market. Not in the mood to dine in? Reach out to Falafel Bar to place an order for carry out or delivery at 215-568-0800.

barryg - I hear you. It's definitely hard to compete with both Mama's and Maoz only a few blocks away.

Decent food, but more expensive than Mama's and no pickle bar. Hot sauce was not hot.
