Was kicking around Sansom last night when we noticed that Sakana Sushi Café (1526 Sansom St.), which opened last summer and lately had been going though something slightly strange, is now called Jay's Favorite Sushi Bar. Jay is chef/owner Jay Zou, who comes to Center City from Johnny Chang's at Broad and Shunk. (Since it's his restaurant, it best be his favorite, right?)

Manager Hubert Zheng describes Jay's as a "New York-style" sushi bar; the specialty roll list is huge, with more than 20 options. Check the cheeky names: "Oh My Goodness" is chopped lobster and shrimp deep-fried and served with spicy tuna; "Don't Ask Me Again" features four fish rolled up with avocado, spicy sauce and masago.

Menu after the jump. Hours: Mon.-Thu., 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Fri., 10 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sat., noon-11 p.m.; Sun., 1-10 p.m.
