Who you tryin' to get crazy with, ese? Don't you know Levin is Loko?

Next Monday, Dec. 13, chef Matt Levin of Adsum (700 S. Fifth St.) will cook a four-course dinner based around Four Loko, the controversial caffeinated 12-percent-alcohol energy beverage that's all the rage with those goddamn crazy kids. *shakes cane* Levin floated the idea of a Four Loko-themed meal on Twitter as a joke, but the people spoke: "Within 15 minutes, I got 37 responses that peeps wanted in," says the chef. "Sometimes your worst decisions are your best." Levin began stockpiling Loko after he heard that that Phusion Products, which produces the drink, was coming under fire from health officials (apparently, combining the ABV of a high-proof beer with caffeine, taurine and guarana is potentially deleterious). The beverage, in its current form, will soon be no longer, all the more reason for Loko boosters to hit up Levin's four-course, drink-paired feast: - Moroccan Lamb Sausage and Peppers paired with Adsum's "Loko Yoko" cocktail - "BBQ Picnic," featuring Loko pearls and pickled watermelon rind, paired with Lemonade Loko - Vanilla Pain Perdu with Loko slushy and gelee, paired with Watermelon Loko - Loko Pate de Fruit, paired with Fruit Punch Loko Adsum's Four Loko dinner will cost $35, and there are two seatings: 6 and 8 p.m. Call 267-888-7002 to reserve.
