Here's the opening lunch menu for Oyster House (1516 Sansom St., 215-567-7683, oysterhousephilly.com), which started offering daytime service this past Monday. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with a separate midday menu taking over from 2:30 to 5.

While we probably wouldn't opt for the $50 New England clambake for two, the affordably priced small plates like steam soft shells ($12), sauted mussels ($13) and fried oysters ($9, $12 with the addition of chicken salad sound like they'd make a winning lunch.

This looks really, really good. But $26 for a lobster roll IS THE CRAZIEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD. Come on Oyster House, pull it together please.

At first the lobster roll seemed expensive for lunch, but so worth it! You get a lot of lobster with it. A lot. Otherwise, I'd go for the soft shell crab sandwich. So good!

Hey Oyster House......Your prices are heady...your limited lunch hours are silly, and honestly it seems like the whole place has a take it or leave it kind of attitude. I choose to leave it! You've really blown a nice opportunity!
