Pumpkin launches new tasting series tonight

POSTED: Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 9:51 PM
Filed Under: Food Events
As Eric Henney so astutely pointed out in last week's What's Cooking, Pumpkin (1713 South St.) is launching a brand-new series of four-course tasting dinners that will be held on the second Wednesday of every month. For this inaugural installment, chef/owner Ian Moroney is teaming up with Megan Murphy, beverage director at White Dog Café, for four this-screams-summer courses, paired with four drinks, for $40 (good deal!). Both establishments pride themselves on sourcing quality local/sustainable ingredients — Moroney, for example, is prepping a dessert of roasted local white peaches topped with shaved foie gras (!), while Murphy's looking to regional faves like Bluecoat Gin and Victory Brewing to wet whistles. Full menu below. The restaurant says they still have some space available for tonight, especially after 8 p.m. Call ahead to confirm: 215-545-4448.
