P.Y.T. gets the grill going

Tommy Up's been rolling out his P.Y.T. in the Piazza at Schmidts at an even clip last week it debuted for drinks, and this week they're starting on the food. (Check them out tonight.) Team Meal Ticket previewed a few items Thursday evening. Though they were already out of lobster fish sticks by the time we came through (damn!) and the alcoholic milkshakes are not yet in full force (the Pulp Fiction-inspired Jack Rabbit Slim, for example, features chocolate and vanilla ice creams mixed with Maker's), we were pleased as spiked punch grubbing on the selections above. In order: onion rings, the kettle chip-topped signature "P.Y.T. Burger" (cooked to a surgically precise medium-rare, strong work), the "Cali-Bunga" (a crispy battered portobello 'shroom patty with caramelized onions) and the ground chicken burger (lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, chips, house sauce). The burgers, all of which are served on classic Martin's potato rolls, top out at a reasonable $12, and that's for a damn triple.

UPDATE [19july09]: Added a few more shots the P.Y.T. Dog (chili, cheddar, raw onion), hand-cut fries and the "Cali-Bunga" (seared white bean) burger topped with a fried egg.
