Restaurant opening tidbits: wine bars, burgers, sausages, mix-a-six spots

A big batch of Philly bar/restaurant odds and ends for you after the jump.

Jill Weber plans on opening Jet Wine Bar at 1525 South Street sometime in July — demo is done at the location, and construction is just beginning. Weber, an archaeologist, has trips planned to Syria in April and June (so cool!), and hopes to be open when she returns.

Fare, at 2028 Fairmount, has hit a bit of a snag in acquiring green building materials and is now looking at May, says partner David Orphanides. More details on the restaurant here.

Silverspoon, which opened at 205 W. Lancaster Avenue in Wayne seven years ago, has relocated to a larger space in the Eagle Village Shops at 503 W. Lancaster Avenue.

Mumbai Bistro is the name of the "fast, fresh, home-style Indian" joint taking over 930 Locust, the former home of Shinju (now Fat Salmon). More details on that soon.

500°, the burger joint from the owners of Rouge at 15th and Sansom, is up for Tuesday, March 23. The menu is not ready to be published yet, but we can share that the burgers, which will be cooked to order (get yours rare if you please!), will run $4.75 to $5.75; combos with sodas and shakes will run $9 to $9.75. Three varieties of fries, too. More soon.

Tabu, the sports bar and lounge taking over Sal's on 12th, hopes to open this Friday. More details soon; here's what we've reported so far.

Stephen Simons, in response to a rumor floated in the latest edition of Icepack, acknowledges that Michael Naessens of Eulogy is indeed "interested" in purchasing The Khyber, but there is nothing on paper whatsover to that effect currently. He says he doesn't know anything about Donal McCoy and Neill Laughlin of Sassafras/Tin Angel being interested.

Have you ever eaten a sausage sandwich from Rocco's, the little grill in front of the South Philly Home Depot? They're so good. They now have a location in the Northeast, at Adams and the Boulevard.

Michele Aquino, who's opening The Bottle Shop craft beer spot with partner Gena Montebello at 1941 E. Passyunk, is shooting for a first-week-of-April opening. Previous coverage here.
