So right now.

Every Wednesday, Meal Ticket pokes around the food blog world to see what's simmering.

- Sorry, St. Germain. Back of the bus, absinthe. Adam Erace at Blogalicious identifies the newest chic liqueur making the cocktail scene, and provides Blackfish chef Chip Roman's recipe for dessert chocolate soup incorporating the colorful booze.

- Femme Fermental Gina treks all the way to Chicago for the 22-course tasting of a lifetime: the cerebral bites at Grant Achatz's Alinea. Peep her pictures and descriptions, complete with wine pairings, but do not lick the monitor Achatz isn't quite that futuristic (yet).

- Phoodie.info asked readers where to find the best truffle dishes in Philly last week, and their comments exploded with statements as pungent as the luxury fungus itself. Collin & Co. strike back this week, finding a shaved-truffle flatbread in a restaurant where the white hats could face off with the food geeks.

- Add a bit of ugh to your day with a new frankenfood courtesy of The Illadelph: deep-fried cheesesteaks. If only we could tape gross-out blog This Is Why You're Fat to our fridge to prepare us for bikini season.

- Foobooz, we love you. As Adam Erace once said, you're like the Moses of the food blog world. But come on with this one! We've got James Beard-finalist chefs in spitting distance of each other, all the fashion that exists outside of URBN, and more history than you can shake a historic interpreter at. How could this 'hood be OVER?
