SNACK TIME: Behold the perfect macaroon, your garden is calling, Greensgrow is only two months away, grill the guys who control your booze, you can't beat this entrance with a stick

Five Spice Duck
Perfect red tamale macaroons, with dark chocolate filling.

Every Wednesday, Meal Ticket pokes around the food blog world to see what's simmering.

- Five Spice Duck conducts extensive tests in order to find the perfect macaroon recipe. Forget about globby, chewy coconut cookies these are the delicate almond meringue sandwiches found everywhere in Paris, even McDonald's.

- Nicole at Farm to Philly has a host of great suggestions for getting your garden started and she magically predicts that last Philly frost!

- If defending your tomatoes from voracious squirrels doesn't appeal, you could always join Greensgrow Farms's CSA this season and enjoy theirs. Download the application form here.

- Anti-PLCB advocate and malt man Lew Bryson is encouraging readers to call in with questions for PLCB "CEO" Joe Conti and Chairman PJ Stapleton when they appear tonight on PCN-TV tonight at 7 p.m. Border patrols, loss of favorite items, and the mystifying SLO system are all up for discussion.

- Phoodie.info and Beer Lass both posted this wonderful video of the Throwdown in Franklintown, surely the most ridiculous spectacle of Beer Week (except for the Roy Pitz boys getting thrown out of Monk's, that is). Check out Kehoe's geisha-accompanied entrance on the Hi-Lo!
