SNACK TIME: Mr. Peanut cracks, Listen up Santa, Royal sandwich sensations, do not get Franklin'd, Chowder power

Planters via seriouseats.com - Thanks to Serious Eats, here is an article, much longer than it needs to be, on why Mr. Peanut is finally speaking after all these years. Spoiler: It's Robert Downey Jr.'s voice. - The Skinny Fat Kid wrote a Christmas letter to Santa so heartfelt and real that I just wanna high five him. My fingers are crossed the jolly dude hears ya and comes through, buddy. - The Royal Tavern is turning 8 (?!?!), and to celebrate, they're running a sandwich-naming/stuffing contest. Thanks to PhillyBeerGirl for the heads up. I'm going with "The Hannibal," liver with fava beans in a Chianti reduction. Eh? Too much? - New autumnal cocktails and tasty bites at The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co., as described by UWISHUNU. I'm always a fan of seasonal sips, but especially when they involve apples pumpkin syrups and the like. Warning: do not get Franklin'd. - Mental Floss has a quick-yet-great rundown on all things chowder, including a bit on a man from Philly who won a chowder-eating contest. Shocking, right?
