Every Wednesday, Meal Ticket pokes around the food blog world to see what's simmering.

-- Don Russell (Joe Sixpack) reports on his blog Beer Radar that Origlio, the wholesaler who supplied "unregistered" beers to Memphis Taproom, Local 44 and Resurrection Ale House, was raided by the PLCB Monday night. Other distributors are "lawyering up" and the flow of Duvel, misnamed on the registry, has ceased.

-- Foobooz noticed the liquor license app in the window of Ansill; prolific commentor Mithras noticed the address for Thatsa Nice restaurant partners corresponds with Starr Restaurant Organization HQ -- 134 Market St.

-- Audrey Taichman will close her restaurant Twenty Manning this Saturday after service, reports The Insider. The Rittenhouse mainstay will undergo a month-long renovation and re-emerge as a friendly American grill.

-- Slashfood talks with Dr. Randall Keast, who is part of an Australian research team that has evidence some people can "taste" fat better than others. The big reveal of the study, sure to make our skinny comrades feel even more smugly superior: "The higher a person's fat-tasting sensitivity, the fewer fatty foods that person ate, and the lower that person's body mass index was."

-- Strange Brew, the 1983 movie starring Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas doing ridiculous Canadian accents, will be reinvented as a Fox sitcom, says BeerNews.org. What do TV writers know about craft brewing, anyway?

I'm sorry to hear about Twenty Manning. I suppose they have to do what they can to survive, but I'll miss the Asian vegetables they've served.
