SNACK TIME: Warm beer and cold women, Gadgets galore, Look, books!, Keen on quinoa, Potter Cake

ventvox.com - Music and booze have been friends for a very long time. Beer Lass made me tear up a little with her heartfelt birthday ode to one of my favorites, Mr. Tom Waits, professional music writer and booze imbiber. Here's to the man, the myth, the legend. I hope he's full of bourbon and can't stand up. - Phoodie shares their picks for foodie holiday presents. Not only do they make a good case for why everyone you know will need this particular vegetable peeler, but they tell you where about town you can pick the items up. Thanks, dudes! - Speaking of presents, SlashFood has compiled a nice little list of cookbooks for anybody, from legit cooks to people who just like looking at pictures, plus everyone in between. I would not mind perusing and possibly attempting something from Thai Street Food. Fear not, lazies: They all link to amazon so you can purchase without getting up. - La Phemme Phoodie shares her own recipe for a fire-roasted pepper and feta quinoa salad. Not only does that just sound bangin' and simple to make, but her photos make me wanna try this dish right now. I would not mind throwing this mix into a tortilla and calling it a night. - I'll Eat You wins: she had a Harry Potter-themed birthday cake, with butter beer buttercream! It had to of been made with magical wizardry. HAD TO!
