Manneken Eats

Every Wednesday, Meal Ticket pokes around the food blog world to see what's simmering. - Manneken Eats checks out an inspired omakase meal conceived by chef Todd Dae Kulper at Ro-Zu — and laments the talent's departure from the Japanese BYO. Lucky for us, this won't be the last we see of the chef. In an email to Meal Ticket, Kulper shares that he's working on a new project — one that "will definitely fill a major void in the Philadelphia market" — but doesn't have much to share other than that at this time. We'll keep you posted. - Definitely peep CNN's new multi-faceted food blog, Eatocracy. - Suzy "Beer Lass" Woods shares news that Steve Poses' Frog Burger, on the front lawn of the Franklin Institute, will start an every-Thursday happy hour tomorrow, June 24. Beer Lass herself will be there tomorrow slangin' Sly Fox cans for $2. - Ezekial Ferguson of Di Bruno's will be competing in this weekend's crazy-sounding Cheesemonger Invitational in New York. Rebecca Brumberg breaks down the event on The Queso Files. - It's a straight-up beetfest over on Doughgirl, who breaks down how to can the blood-red suckas. - Midtown Lunch Philly profiles Marcos from Fidel Gastro, who shares a great strategy for getting around the ennui caused by Five Guys' posted calorie counts.
