Every Wednesday, Meal Ticket pokes around the food blog world to see what's simmering. - Philebrity muses over a rumor that someone bought the R.U.B.A., a favorite hangout of elderly Eastern European dudes and Sunday-night ping-pong players. No actual facts yet, but a lively anti-gentrification debate in the comments. - The Thirsty Pilgrim reports that De Dolle Brewery in Esen, Belgium suffered a fire caused by a basement fuel-tank explosion. Though one worker was injured, he is making a full recovery. The OerBar tasting area was damaged, but bottling continues. Via Seen Through A Glass. - Bravo's hunger-inducing Top Chef season seven will be filmed in Washington, D.C., says The Illadelph. Could Philadelphia be next? - Philly Beer Week will hold its Opening Tap festival Fri., June 4 at the Independence Visitors' Center in Old City, kicking off 10 days of suds- and sun-soaked fun. Tickets are $40; get 'em here. - Sad news from The Insider, who confirms the rumor that Aimee Olexy and Bryan Sikora of Talula's Table are parting ways. Olexy will continue to run Talula's coveted farmhouse-table dinners with three longtime sous chefs; Sikora has joined DelSol Concepts as corporate chef.
