Reverend Michael Alan

Jan. 16 will see the debut of a weekly farmers market in The Piazza at Schmidts, a venue that's been basically screaming for such a thing. The market will be held Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing a day-early alternative (or addendum) for all you Headhouse shoppers after that Sunday market picks back up in May. They'll be more than 20 purveyors on hand weekly; the product selection will start out seasonally appropriate, with winter fruits/vegetables, meats like veal and beef (plus game like quail and pheasant) in addition to eggs and cheeses. Prepared foods, too. We'll have more specifics on the participating farmers/artisans soon.
