Monday, Oct. 4 Marabella Meatball Co. will open on Walnut in November check out the menu. Blackbird, serving an all-vegan pizza and sandwich menu, opens in the old Gianna's space. Whole lot going on in Notes from the Weekend, including visits to City Tap House, Watkins Drinkery, Catahoula, Cacia's, The Institute, Villa di Roma and more. Tuesday, Oct. 5 Good Karma Café opens its second location. Collingswood gets Prime 505, a new (BYOB) steakhouse. Wednesday, Oct. 6 Marathon Grill organizes a beer dinner to raise funds for Kenzo's Emerald Street Urban Farm. The Sloppy Dog at Jake's is a badass sandwich you should eat immediately. Chocolove's almond/dark/chocolate/sea salt bar gets the Weekly Candy treatment. Thursday, Oct. 7 Holy crap, Meal Ticket is two years old! Stephen Starr, Marc Vetri and Joe Volpe (Cescaphe Ballroom) sign up to develop ambitious concepts north of City Hall. Center City's first Chipotle location is opening very soon. We test out the Churchill, the new custom-blended LaFrieda burger at Pub & Kitchen. Friday, Oct. 8 October means omakase at Zama. The owners of Tria debut Biba, a new wine/beer bar in the Left Bank building. Duck, duck, Chifa it's Duck Week at Jose Garces' Peruvian eatery.
