Tonight: Beer class at The Swift Half

Class is in session tonight at Swift Half Pub (The Piazza at Schmidts, 1001 N. Second St.) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. where Andrew Rubenstein of The Foodery (837 N. Second St. and 324 S. 10th St.) will impart knowledge on the flavors and characteristics of Northeastern regional beers. Amy Miller, manager at Swift Half, says they'll pour four drafts, including ales, lagers and Belgian-style beers. Weyerbacher and Climax bottles are also on The Foodery's agenda, says its Glenn O'Neill. Tickets are $20 — this gets ya eight 10-ounce pours — and are available from either Foodery or Swift Half.
