Head to South Philadelphia Tap Room (1509 Mifflin St.) this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for its first-ever Cider Dinner, centered around sparkling stuff direct from France.

Chef Scott Schroeder has planned an all-you-can-eat family-style meal featuring dishes like cider-brined pork loin, house-made charcuterie and a selection of cheeses. Guests will sample drinks as presented by French cider and Calvados maker Jerome Dupont, who hails from a long line of producers in the Pays d'Auge region of Normandy.

In addition to several specially paired courses, Dupont will introduce diners to cider varieties like his vintage Bouche Brut, Cidre de Givre, Cuvee Colette and more. Tickets (available online) are $55 per person and covers everything you can taste and sip.
