It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has inspired quite a few hilarious products including the Dick Towel and Kitten Mittens (DOES YOUR CAT MAKE TOO MUCH NOISE? ... TRY KITTEN MITTENS!!!) but up until now, nothing edible (sorry, no “milk steak, boiled over hard, and your finest jelly beans ... raw.”) or potable.

Thankfully the good folks at San Diego's Stone Brewing Company have rectified the situation by teaming up with Chicago's Two Brothers Brewing and Alemen for a Charlie-inspired brew called Dayman Coffee IPA. If you're not up on your Sunny trivia, check out this video of musical masterpiece The Nightman Cometh

No word yet on when the collaboration brew comes out but for now we'll have to make due with this clip of Charlie eating a pear at the Italian Market

Update: Grub's saying that Dayman is going to be pouring sometime in March.

Fresh new year, fresh new start: new monthly specials at Jake’s, a new menu for Osteria, Philly’s newest food truck, and a new (and newly kosher) weekly menu from Miss Rachel: all on today’s sparkling new edition of Afternoon Snacks.

So, a new month must mean new specials at Jake’s Sandwich Board (122 S. 12th St.). (Although, if you were taken by December’s pork cheek chili special, take heart: Drew Lazor reports that they’ve made it a winter-long menu item.) Up for January: a chocolate cherry shake that blends cherry soda and chocolate ice cream, and a BBQ brisket sandwich with housemade barbecue sauce, fried onions, and melted provolone (above).

We'll admit, while we enjoyed the first few editions of Real Actors Read Yelp, it kind of fell off our radar. Not in a "we're so over this" kind of way, just in a "we're easily distracted by the insurmountable heaps of internet we have to read every day" kind of way.

But we're glad we came across this latest rendition, because #14 is really good. Not to spoil it for you, but there's a serious spoon problem to contend with. (Rest easy, though, as according to one commenter the froyo shop did change the spoons.) And because it's the internet, of course this has snowballed into videos like "Real Actors Read Real Comments from Real Actors Read Missed Connections" in the time we were away. We'd like to extend our sincere apologies for sucking you back in, fellow people who thought you'd shaken at least this one sticky little corner of the intertubes.

If you've ever spent any significant time working in the front or back of this house the results of the Great British Psychopath Survey might not be a shocker: chefs ranked ninth on the list of most psychopathic career choices. Eater shared The Wisdom on Psychopaths author Kevin Dutton's top ten list of professions that are most likely to employ those with egocentricity, shallow emotions, lack of empathy, irresponsibility, lack of remorse, and most tellingly, a high tolerance for stress. Number one on the list were CEOS followed by lawyers, media folks, salespeople and surgeons. Guess that's something to think about next time you're debating whether or not to send back that overcooked burger or watching an episode of Hell's Kitchen.

Suffering from equal parts post-holiday doldrums and a peskily debilitating cold, my weekend eats mostly involved liquids and Halls. (Too bad you didn't get to see the previous weekend's bacchanalia of Baltimore, Le Virtu and new year's day brunch...) We mostly cooked, but ordered in on Friday from take-out go-to Fuel, whose hummus is really way better than you'd think: creamy, whipped to an airy fluff and furnished with fresh thyme and lemon zest.—AE

Taco trucks (for sale!) and tasting menus, on today's Afternoon Snacks!

Ever dream of owning your own food truck? Well, if you've got $35,000 burning a hole in your pocket, you're in luck: the owner of Chris's Taco Stand is moving and selling their cart. The listing sounds pretty much turn-key, including everything from utensils to the truck used to tow it.

It's a big week for the Hot Diggity (630 South St.): first their menu was named #1 menu of the year (no, really!), and on Wednesday, they'll be featured on the Travel Channel. Once upon a time (read: March), we told you about the filming, and now it's finally set to air. Tune in or set your DVR to record Hot Dog Paradise 2 on Jan. 9 at 11 p.m.

While we won't know what made it into the final cut until Wednesday night, owner Keith Garabedian tells us that they got an entire day's worth of footage—including tons of interviews with employees and customers alike, and an impromptu and "particularly awkward" reenactment of a brainstorming session for a menu special. While (#1 menu designer of the year) Hawk Krall was unable to attend the filming, it sounds like his artwork should feature prominently in the episode.

And since it seems like a no-brainer that you would stop by Hot Diggity for some takeout to go with your viewing, let's talk specials. This January's special dog is the over-the-top Buffalo Buffalo Dog, a spicy buffalo hot dog (from D’Angelo’s in the Italian Market), buttermilk chive dressing, house hot and honey wing sauce, celery, Maytag blue cheese, scallions, and chicken cracklings on a butter-toasted bun. And they've got a bunch of new housemade sodas, too, including Yerba Mate Ginger Ale and a Spicy PB&J (with a spicy rim) inspired by the FedNuts favorite.

Here at Meal Ticket, we're pretty vocal fans of both Matyson BYOB and Stateside—so we were understandably excited to catch word that Ben Puchowitz and George Sabatino are teaming up this month for one giant collaborative feast to be hosted at Matyson (37 S. 19th). Also along for the ride is Greg Moore, wine genius/owner of Moore Brothers wine stores. (Besides his pairing expertise being top-notch, we'll note that Matyson is also just a bit easier to find than Moore Bros.' Jersey shop.)

The luxe 8-course dinner with pairings will go for $150 per guest (inclusive of everything), and will be available for just one seating on Thu., Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. The menu hits all the extravagant notes you're probably expecting—both pricy, like lobster cannelloni and truffles, and rich, like a plate of beef cheek, loin, and marrow—but what really strikes us is how seamlessly the dishes integrate the two chefs' signatures... and how much fun we suspect they had coming up with it. Slick, high-end ingredients mix with humble, cheffy indulgences, punched up with smart hits of modern technique and global influence. But you can see for yourself, after the jump.

If you're anxiously awaiting the Northern European cuisine promised by upcoming EPX project Noord, you'll want to head over to Zagat's blog, where you can check out an interview Danya Henninger did with chef Joncarl Lachman. In the conversation, Lachman talks more about the concept, the vibe (you may not ever need to use it, but why not learn what gezelligheid means in Dutch?), and why he regreats not returning to Philly sooner.

And, of course, he talks about the food: though some early word speculated Lachman would be zeroing in on the foods of his Dutch heritage, the chef clarifies here that he's "looking to cultures from the Alsace region north." So of course he's talking pickling, smoking, and the Danish art of smørrebrød.

Estimates for opening continue to vascillate slightly as these things always do (Lachman hopes for early April, which would be a bit of a bump-up from the May date PARC director/Noord landlord Sam Sherman guessed at when we spoke to him last month)—but Lachman told Henninger that he's thinking a few collabs and/or pop-ups will be in order while work on Noord is ongoing, so color us excited.
