Uncle Moe's Family Feedbag it ain't: This Sat., Oct. 30, from 8 to 10 p.m. all three Drinker's locations (Drinker's Pub, Drinker's West and Drinker's Tavern) will celebrate Halloween with 50-cent Bud Lights and well drinks. And the best part? For the entire holiday weekend, their Old City location (124 Market St.) will be turned into the city of Springfield's choice dive, Moe's Tavern.

You will see all the locals , like Homer, Marge (that's her above!) and Duff Man (OHHH YEAH!). There will of course be signature Flaming Moes, though there's no official word yet on what the substitute for Krusty's Non-Narkotik Kough Syrup for Kids will be. You can cop a pint of Duff beer from the bartender, but there will not be any Fudd, because as we all know it was pulled off the market after all those hillbillies went blind. Entrance to Moe's to open to the public, and there's no need to go all The Shinning to get access to the cheap drink deals — all you have to do is sign up at least 24 hours in advance here. P.S. Screw Flanders.

How many times have you found yourself outside some bar, some night, on the descending end of a buzz, starving? Too sober to house a basket of carbs. Too lubricated to just go home and cook an omelette. Once upon a time, late-night dining meant Chinatown or a diner, but lately local restaurants are stepping up their after-hours game. At Valerie Safran and Marcie Turney's new Medi spot Barbuzzo (110 S. 13th St.), join servers fresh off their shifts at the dove-gray marble bar for a selection of $10 late-night bites offered Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. They'll change frequently, but the current starting line-up includes Neapolitan pizza, house-ground beef burger, seasonal veggie board and a "pasta fresca" of Turney's choosing. (Drinkage include $3 drafts, $4 glasses of sangria and $5 glasses of wine.) Further south, Fifth and Bainbridge's Adsum (read the official review) is an incubator of after-hours action, luring in the 'toxed and hungry with promises of malt-vinegar popcorn and sunchoke chips, $3 pulled pork sliders, $6 guanciale-and-caramelized-fennel flatbread washed down with $3 cans of Narragansett, Sly Fox and 21st Amendment. Follow their Twitter account and you'll never be subjected to sub-par late-night eats again.

There's still a bit of time left to take advantage of the 20th anniversary deals at Chris' Jazz Cafe (1421 Sansom St.), which hit the big 2-0 milestone last month (see Shaun Brady's feature). Chef/co-owner Mark DiNinno (above right, with his partner Glenn Gerber) is offering a three-course $20 tasting Monday though Thursday for the remainder of October. The lineup changes regularly, but DiNinno has been doing dishes like bourbon-glazed sesame frog's legs, crabcakes with Cajun rice and shrimp/chicken/andouille jambalaya. To drink, $20 bottles of specially selected 20th anniversary wines, plus $10 NOLA-style cocktails (Sazeracs, Hurricanes, etc.).

City Paper's partnership with Half Off Depot provides ample opportunity to take advantage of sweet edible/imbibable bargains. Figured we'd draw your attention to two deals, going down today and tomorrow, well worth a shake. First, you can drop $12 for a $24 certificate to smoky stalwart Phoebe's BBQ (2214 South St.). That deal began at 10 a.m. today and ends at 10 a.m. tomorrow. That 10 a.m. Thursday deadline coincides with the kick-off of a second daily deal (and this one's a doozy) — spend $25, and you'll get a $50 printable gift certificate for Joe Canal's Liquor in beautiful downtown Marlton (305 N. Rt. 73). There is no limit on how many one person can purchase, either, meaning (if you act fast enough) you could feasibly stock up on spirits for the entire holiday season for 50 cents on the dollar. Check out halfoffdepot.com/philly tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. to get your Canal's on, and "like" Half Off Depot Philly on Facebook to stay posted on the latest daily deals.

Paradiso's swordfish spaghettini puttanesca
Located in the midst of the hustle and bustle of East Passyunk Avenue, Paradiso is an Italian restaurant with giant open windows and seating right one the sidewalk. Six friends and I went there for the four courses-for-$30 deals served up for Philly Neighborhood Restaurant Week. We were seated immediately and given bread and olive oil while we waited for our bottle of wine to arrive. For the first course, we were given three options: fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and roasted  peppers; a salad consisting of baby spinach, pancetta, roasted peppers and cider vinaigrette; and chicken livers, which I opted for. The microarugula-topped offal arrived fried over a bed of sauteed onions. Chicken livers are not my thing, but I'm glad I tried them for the first time the way Paradiso chose to cook them. The second course consisted of two pasta options: a fettuccine pomodoro, which was great in its simplicity, and a spaghettini swordfish puttanesca, also a good, solid dish. For the third course, I feel like I picked the most boring dish out of the bunch, skate Milanese with arugula and lemon aioli, and upon its arrival immediately regretted it. That's not saying it was bad (it was actually quite good), but compared to all of the other dishes mine was just bland. Had I known, I would've ordered anything else, like the  short rib braciola, served with soft polenta and smoked tomato cream. It was delicious, as was the slow-roasted porchetta served with yukon potatoes. The two dessert options were simple ways to end a great meal: a warm chocolate bread pudding with a dollop of vanilla cream and a rice pudding with grappa soaked cherries and a sprig of a mint. I would like to go back to Paradiso to try their regular menu, and I have the Philly Neighborhood Food Week to thank for trying out a new restaurant that I probably wouldn't have visited otherwise. PNFW runs until tomorrow; check out the full list of participating restaurants here.

I'll totally hire their costumer for just $5. (If the decor looks that good, it must be because their costumer is a real pro.)

Suck it, Center City District. That's the message neighborhoods outside the Center City borders — what are those borders these days exactly, anyway? — are sending to the organizers of Philly's largest Restaurant Week, which, thanks be to God, just ended. Earlier this month, Adsum, Izumi, James and seven other spots the Center City District didn't ask to prom turned their jilted emotions into their own pre-fixe par-tay. In October, the River Ward districts do the same, though you could call the comprised nabes of Fishtown, Kensington and Port Richmond the originators of the alt-Restaurant Week, as this year's is the second annual installment. From Sun., Oct. 3 through Sun., Oct. 10, Johnny Brenda's, Hinge Cafe, Green Rock Tavern and others will offer specials and pre-fixe menus at various price points. Stay tuned to the River Ward Restaurant Week's cool blog for details, and peep all the participants' deals after the jump.
