Thank God the End of Days decided not to happen this weekend: If it had, we'd all miss out on Wawa's annual summer-month celebration of the hoagie The Hoagie. Yes, Hoagiefest is back and as exciting as ever, promising a rotating roster of classic Shortis that clock in at $3.49 apiece — the standard turkey variety is available at the special price for the entire 10-week duration of the promotion, but look for ever-changing additions like roast beef (May 23-June 5), cheesesteak (June 6-June 19), meatball (July 4-17), Italian (June 20-July 3), and the ever-dubious, truly suspicious prime rib (July 18-31). Oh, Hoagiefest. Your unforgettable jingles and truly stunning promotional artwork/website never cease to satisfy and astound. Promotions like this are almost enough to make us hunger for the your most suspicious fare.

Jake's Sandwich Board (122 S. 12th St.) is celebrating its first birthday today, and they're feting their customers with free roast pork sandwiches. (Gary Dorfman and Sean Stein opened up shop a little more than a year ago.) Stop by the shop at noon today to get your hands on a free lunch; they'll keep handing them out "until the pig is kicked." For the remainder of the day, take advantage of discounted prices on Jake's signature menu item — they'll sell pork sams for $5 instead of the usual $8.

Krispy Kreme, which returned to the Philly market in November with a Fox Chase location, will open a Center City outpost at 41 S. 16th Street on May 4. The doughnut glazer is sweetening the deal for early adopters, too (and we mean early): The first customer through the new location's door when it opens at 6 a.m. will win one dozen free glazed doughnuts every week for a year. The next 11 customers after him/her (it'll probably be a dude right? just a hunch) will win one dozen free doughnuts every month for a year. From there, KK will hook up a number of patrons with free coffee coupons and T-shirts, and from 2 to 4:30 p.m., it's free doughnuts for all. This location will also offer eats like bagels, muffins, sweet rolls, organic oatmeal (!) and fruit and granola.

Chicken wing chain Wingstop is launching a limited-edition chicken sandwich this week: The GLIDER! Topped with pickles, the sauced-to-taste sandwich takes off today at noon at the Broad & Cecil B. Moore Wingstop location. You're welcome to bust out your Big City Slider Station (RIP Billy Mays) to try and create this wonderous innovation in slidery in your own home, but why not do yourself a favor and eatout Wingstop's version for free first? The Troy Aikman-approved restaurant, in partnership with 100.3 The Beat, will be giving out 103 Glider lunch combos, which include fries and a soda.

Pub & Kitchen (1946 Lombard St.) is celebrating its advancement to the final round of the Best of Philly Burger Bracket with a kickin'-sounding happy hour this evening. After knocking Good Dog and Standard Tap out of the running, P&K is going to head-to-head with Village Whiskey's fabled Whiskey King burger. Pub & Kitchen fans will be treated to complimentary Churchill Sliders — mini versions of the signature beast (above) Jonathan Adams rolled out in October — as well as $1 oysters and $3 P&K/Sixpoint Middleton ales between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m.

Jason Brooke, GM and chief vino head at Zavino (112 S. 13th St.), is kicking off a weekly "3-Liter Thursday" special this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. by popping a large-format bottle of 1991 Sterling Vineyards Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon out of his personal cellar. Since this wine is not available through the PLCB system, Brooke will be pouring the big Napa Cab for free, but subsequent 3-Liter Thursdays will see him selling 3- and 6-ounce pours, plus 750ml decanters (prices will vary based on the wine). This once-a-week special goes along with Brooke's recurring "Premium Pour" feature, which sees him bust out a swanky wine usually available by bottle only and pouring it in reasonably priced tasting portions.

Opa (1311 Sansom St.), which just earned a nice review from Adam Erace last week, is ready to officially toast to its debut. Starting this afternoon at 4, the opening ceremonies will take place outdoors with the approval of representatives from Mayor Nutter's office. They'll be stopping by to recognize Opa as being part of the larger Midtown Village revitalization — expect to smash a few plates (in place of cutting a ribbon) after the ceremony winds down. Then, from 5 to 10 p.m., you can sample Opa chef Andrew Brown's mupdates on traditional Greek treats; complimentary mezedes and cocktails will be served throughout the night. You can welcome the warm weather for the price of a courteous RSVP.

Now that we're well into mudbug season, chef Paul Martin at Catahoula (775 S. Front St.) is dedicating one day a week to real-deal crawfish boils. Every Tuesday, swing by the Louisiana native's bar and order up one of three boil options — a one-pound bowl ($14) with potatoes and corn; a two-pounder ($25), with potatoes and corn, that also includes your choice of gumbo, bisque or side salad and an Abita beer; and a three-pound helping ($35) that'll also feature the requisite corn and taters. (The two-pound deal sounds like the jam to us!) Catahoula will continue this weekly through about Memorial Day, and Martin plans on ending the season with a big blowout barbecue/boil.

Cocktails on the cheap are on the horizon for you, Philly. Yelp is hooking it up with half-price mixed drinks all week at many noteworthy spots, beginning today. Twenty-one local bars and restaurants will be taking part in an offering of gratitude with select specialty cocktails at this heavily-discounted price tag. Center City highlights include The Rumble at Ranstead Room, Anthos at Opa, Run Tell That at Noble and Junmai Fizz at Sampan. All chosen cocktails this week (peep the full list of offerings here) are shaken for between $2.50 and $6, and you don't even need a Yelp account to enjoy.

Jet Wine Bar (1525 South St.) is taking the industry-night concept into the daylight (owww ... so bright) with its industry brunch, running every Monday (today included) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Designed to cater to those who are "more often making a Bloody Mary on Sunday than drinking one," the in-the-biz brunch is open to everyone, but those who produce a bar, restaurant, salon or "other weekend-brunch killing industry" paystub will get a generous 20 percent lopped off their bill. Come for the eggs, frittata and sandwiches and stay for the Bloodys — we downed a couple yesterday afternoon and can attest to their "destroy this godforesaken, somehow-still-lingering hangover" ability.
