Start planning your viewing parties now, people: Two of television's most popular food programs are putting Philly's cuisine and culinary talent in the limelight.
travelchannel.com
For your first round of must-see TV, tune in as Travel Channel's resident fearless eater and host of Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmern, tests his adventurous tastes in Philadelphia. Zimmern completed his tour de force of Philly over the summer, reportedly stopping by Reading Terminal Market and John's Roast Pork, among other spots, along the way. Also keep your eyes peeled for Meal Ticket's pride and joy, Felicia D'Ambrosio (that's the back of her head above!), making a special appearance alongside Zimmern. The episode airs Tue., Jan. 25, at 10 p.m.

Next up, clear your schedule at 10 p.m. this Sunday, Jan. 30, when two members of Philadelphia's galaxy of star chefs, Iron Chef Jose Garces and Zahav chef Michael Solomonov, face off in Kitchen Stadium on Food Network's Iron Chef America. We're pulling for a secret ingredient outside both competitors' wheelhouses to keep things interesting (no pork for you, Jose!). What secret ingredient would you like to see? Leave your suggestions in the comments, we'll be sure to pass them along to The Chairman. As far as local viewing parties go, no official details just yet, but we hear Solomonov will be watching the show Sunday night at his Percy Street Barbecue (900 South St.).

Team Meal Ticket is excited to welcome three new voices to the oh-god-I'm-so-full fray. After the jump, get all the particulars on three names you'll be seeing quite a bit of over the next few months.
Laurel Rose Purdy is a Temple graduate from Woodstock, New York. A long-term member of the Philadelphia restaurant community, she is currently a server at Amada. Her food blog, Devour, is her venue to show love for quinoa and her recent unforgettable meals. She is in her third month of gluten free living, which for any self-appointed food geek is an immense challenge in its own right. A wine obsessor, she hopes to be a certified sommelier by 2013. Her favorite foods are raw oysters and Kettle corn. She has three cats and a dog and would be more than happy to show you photos of them sleeping or wrestling or yawning anytime. Choice Drinks: Southwark, N. 3rd, Parc, McGlinchey's Choice Eats: Zahav, Bar Ferdinand, Pumpkin, Mai Lai Wah, Koo Zee Doo, and still, Amada
A Detroit transplant and University of Michigan graduate, Erin Finnerty has been living, breathing and eating in Philadelphia since 2008. A vegetarian ("pescetarian," if hairs must be split) with a knack for finding delicious meatless fare, Finnerty enjoys the finer things in life: sushi, diet soda and thin-crust pizza. She grew up on take-home goodies from her dad's tenure as a bakery manager in Metro Detroit and it should come as no suprise that she is an amateur baker, placing third in a "Best Pie in Philadelphia" contest last year — the only independent party to rank. In her down time, she can be found in her Fairmount home, enjoying the company of her two furry feline friends, snacking and watching the best Netflix has to offer. Choice Drinks: North Star Bar, PYT, Khyber Pass Pub Choice Eats: Honey's, Tacconelli's, Barbuzzo, Capogiro
Sandwich enthusiast Adrian Pelliccia is a native of Northern Liberties, but currently calls West Philly home while finishing up his senior year at the University of Pennsylvania. Adrian is an associate editor at Under the Button, the blog of 34th Street Magazine, where his favorite responsibilities include coverage of the West Philadelphia food truck scene and weekly explorations of The Daily Pennsylvanian's crime log. Growing up with a sister who is one part human, six parts baker has made him into an avid fan of profiteroles, popovers and elaborately decorated cakes (cup and otherwise). Choice Drinks: McGlinchey's, The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co., Royal Tavern, Oscar's, Silk City Choice Eats: Osteria, Sang Kee Peking Duck House, Han Dynasty, Barbuzzo, Pub & Kitchen, Nam Phuong, Standard Tap, Szechuan Tasty House
