They lay out this big-ass sheet of pizza on the counter every day and it's usually gone by the end of the lunch rush. It tastes way better than the cruddy photo looks ... where is this, though?

UPDATE [4 p.m.]: Tough ID eh? Clue: This is in the Old City vicinity, close to CP headquarters ...

Every day from now until Thanksgiving, Jake's Sandwich Board (122 S. 12th St.) will be serving up their Turduken sandwich for $10. (It was a hit last year.) Get ready to feast on a fresh-baked roll smeared with cranberry spread, topped with apple/sausage stuffing, filled with slices of Creole-seasoned chicken, house-roasted duck and turkey and finished off with fried hash browns. Above, check out Jake's owner Gary Dorfman assembling the sandwich as a tribute to famous turducken enthusiast John Madden.

Two weeks back we told you all about Rival Bros, the nascent roastery/coffee truck operation from Jonathan Adams (Pub & Kitchen, The Diving Horse) and Damien Pileggi (La Colombe). The duo quietly debuted their branded java whip in LOVE Park yesterday morning. From here on out, they'll serve from this spot Monday to Friday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Check out their full menu after the jump (click to enlarge).

Spread Bagelry (262 S. 20th St.), which has been baking full throttle since mucking through a series of unforeseen delays this spring, is expanding. Owner Larry Rosenblum tells Meal Ticket that he's just signed a lease for what was, until recently, Brown Betty Petite (269 S. 20th St.), the space just across 20th Street from his Montreal-style bagel oven. Spread Bake Shop will specialize in muffins, biscotti, scones and pies baked on the premises, and they'll sell loose bagels to go for those who don't want to fall in line across the way. Their signature item, Rosenblum says, will be diner-style scratchmade grilled corn muffins served with artisanal butters and jams. Look for it to open in spring 2012.
