The latest addition to 13th Street's all-star Midtown Village lineup, The Corner (102 S. 13th St.) is doing you a huge favor: For a limited time only (Wednesday, Feb. 16 to Friday, Feb. 18), they're offering up two of their house-favorite apps free of charge. Along with their special sweet-and-spicy wings, The Corner's is offering up all guests a gratis helping of their new-school masa tots to put your sad, cylindrical potato nuggets to shame. Pizzeria Stella goes collegiate

Starting tonight, students from area colleges (Temple, Penn, UArts, Drexel, etc. â anything goes!) are entitled to a super dinner deal at Pizzeria Stella (420 S. Second St.). For $29, student couples will get their choice of any two appetizers, any pizza and any two flavors of gelato. All you need is a valid student ID and you're in the money. Date night happens every Monday evening at Stella from 4 to 10 p.m., so grab a friend and hoof it over to Headhouse. You can use the money you save for a mondo Valentine's Day dinner deal.

I couldn't round up any dinner deals for one, but lots of bars are doing singles events. Public House (1801 Arch St., 215-587-9040) is hosting a Love Stinks singles party on Feb. 12th for those who are ready to mingle - entry's free, and they'll be offering some drink specials. There are a bunch of other similar events happening that same Thursday, but this is the only one I found that didn't have a cover charge. Hope this helped!

Fresh off a write-up in the New York Times, Mike Stollenwerk of fish (1708 Lombard St.) has introduced a new, Sunday-only small plates approach geared at more adventurous eaters. Stollenwerk says that the new menu â it replaces the $28 five-course prix-fixe that started at Little Fish, moved to fish, and is now back at Little Fish 2.0 for a few bucks more â is intended to get his more staid customers into untested (and hopefully delicious) territory eating-wise. Past small plates have included Manila clams with chorizo, lager and parsley ($9); Spanish octopus with braised lamb shank, chickpeas and sunchoke ($10); and fluke crudo with daikon, orange, mint, hazelnut, and soy ($10).

Healthy Bites' healthy happy hour

Healthy Bites To Go (2521 Christian St.) covers pretty much all the bases as far as health-conscious food is concerned â they cater, teach cooking classes, offer dietary consultations, do takeout, and starting this month, they're introducing a happy hour. All meals consisting of an entrÃ©e and two sides are 10 percent off between Monday and Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Menus are updated daily on the shop's Facebook page.

Clam chowder on the street today

Just in case you don't have it marked on your calendar already, it's National New England Clam Chowder Day! Oyster House (1516 Sansom St.) is celebrating with a hot chowder special: for $5, pick up a tidy to-go package of their house-made New England clam chowder with oyster crackers and a spoon. The dedicated OH staff will be posted up street-side ready to serve Center City lunchers all the chowder they can handle from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
