This coming Monday, July 18, Opa (1311 Sansom St.), which Adam Erace determined had swagger like Zeus in his April review, will introduce lunch service with a giveaway — all comers will receive a free "toast." Before you start complaining that all you're receiving gratis is crunchy slices of rye (hey, even that would be sweet to get for free, quit your whining), know that "toast" actually refers to a Greek-style pressed sandwich; the one pictured above is layered with LanCo ham, melted manouri cheese and honey mustard (you'll get a comp side of their bangin' oregano fries, as well). Lunch at Opa, though (running weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), will feature a bunch more options beyond these sandwiches; you've also got gyros, their bifteki burger and a selection of mezedes. Peep the menu in full after the jump (click to enlarge.)

Today, neon-colored frozen drink-guzzling denizens of Philadelphia, is July 11 — 7-Eleven Day. That means all participating 7-Eleven locations will be giving out free 7.11-ounce Slurpees all day. To sweeten the deal with massive amounts of high fructose corn syrup, two local Sevs will also host timed Slurpee-drinking contests and other 7-Eleven-related challenges for prizes. Stop by the Rittenhouse store (226 W. Rittenhouse Square) between now and 9 a.m. or the Northeast Philly location (9001 Frankford Ave.) between 3 and 5 p.m. this afternoon to gawk/participate. And remember: Do not, under any circumstances, try to fill up if that red light on the Slurpee machine is on. That means the stuff is not even close to frozen yet and your cup will be filled with weird melty sticky death liquid. No one wants that to happen to you on 7-Eleven Day, of all occasions.

Good way to start the weekend: Chef Edwin Ramirez over at The Legendary Dobbs (304 South St.) will be handing out free blunts at happy hour tonight from 6 to 7. Before you ditch that half-cracked green Dutchie, perhaps we should clarify: The blizzies in question are actually a signature item of Ramirez's, a tortilla filled with boneless buffalo chicken, lettuce and blue cheese and twisted up tight like a White Owl a skinny burrito. Like all the best blunts, they're designed to be wielded with one hand only, leaving the other hand free for beers/high fives. Check out a video of Ramirez rolling one of his blunts above. He is really good at that.

You might've noticed an army of cows dudes in cow suits blanketing Center City today, handing out gratis Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches to all comers — it's a boots-on-the-ground promo promoting the 16th anniversary of the pollo chain's "Eat More Chikin" campaign. The generous bovines have already hit up Penn's Landing and Independence Hall today, but you've still got time to snag a free sandwich at the Art Museum this afternoon at 1:30. It's all in upport of Cow Appreciation Day, scheduled for this Friday, July 8. On that day, hit up any Chick-fil-A location during business hours dressed as a cow and you'll receive a free meal. Note: You've got to be decked out head-to-toe in moo-ving attire to get that full meal. If you're rocking a cow accessory, such as a hat or bell or black-and-white shirt, you'll get a free entrée only. Just go all the way, you know?

July — and really, what other month could it possibly be foreal? — is National Hot Dog Month. To mark this annual tubesteakian occassion, chef Daniel Stern has instituted a very nice hot dog deal at MidAtlantic (3711 Market St.) that'll run today through the 31st: You'll be able to get one of his scratchmade "Smoke House" hot dogs (with pickles, mustard, kraut and chips), plus a pint of beer, for just six bucks all month. And that, my freedom-loving friends, is what America is all about.

Le Virtù (1927 E. Passyunk Ave) has got some tasty warm-weather news: They'll be serving $4 draft craft beers and $10 lamb and jumbo shrimp skewers outside at Campo, their outdoor dining space, all this summer. The lamb skewers run $10 for 10 and the jumbo shrimp will set you back $10 for three. The South Philly Abruzzese restaurant is open for dinner seven days a week, with a no-corkage BYO night every Tuesday.

NoLibs' Chenango, right next to Arrow Swim Club (1031 Germantown Ave.), offers a thrifty and potentially dangerous brunch deal on Saturdays and Sundays. Shell out $20 and you get a brunch entrée (see menu after the jump), plus all-you-can-drink Mimosas and Bloody Marys. That runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. STAY HYDRATED DURING THIS OK.

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear Oyster House, now give me a goddamn lobster roll.

That’s exactly what owner Sam Mink is doing on the seafood house's (1516 Sansom St.) second birthday, Wed., June 15. The pound-and-a-half signature lobster rolls (muy autentico on J.J. Nissen top-split rolls) that normally fetch $26 will be sold wrapped to go for just $15 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Could this be practice for a mobile operation, a la Brooklyn's Red Hook Lobster Pound? We can only hope.

Hey all you ultra-frugal, fresh-air-loving peripatetic types out there in bloggyland! Tonight marks the return of the University City District's first-Thursday Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, a promo that sees a collection of West Philly establishments offering up treats for just 100 cents.

Scrounge up some singles and eat lentil wraps at Dahlak, mango lassis and samosas at Desi Chaat House, focaccia at Dock Street, vegan cupcakes and mini sandwiches at Green Line, dollar beers at Queen of Sheba and Elena's Soul, Bassett's ice cream scoops at Milk & Honey and more; it's also a good chance to check out the just-opened Mood Café (from Desi Chaat House's owners), who will be handing out fresh-squeezed juices, lassis, samosas and ice cream for a buck. The stroll, which lasts from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is concurrent with the farmers market at Clark Park (43rd and Baltimore, 3-7 p.m.), which'll feature street eats from Guapos Tacos and the Country Meadows BBQ stand. There will be three more strolls this summer, on the first Thursays of July, August and September.

The loyalty card — you know, "buy nine tuna sandwiches, get the 10th free!" — is a time-honored practice at food/drink operations of all stripes, the coffee game being no exception. But now a group of Philly bean brewers are teaming up to encourage extremely disloyalty within their customer base. Seven local coffee houses — Chestnut Hill Coffee Co. (8620 Germantown Ave.), Spruce Street Espresso (1101 Spruce St.), Lovers & Madmen (28 S. 40th St.), Ultimo Coffee (1900 S. 15th St.), Town Hall Coffee Co. (358 Montgomery Ave., Merion), Shot Tower Coffee (542 Christian St.) and Bodhi Coffee (410 S. Second St.) — are now carrying cards for "Philly's Disloyalty Program." The deal: Purchase a pourover coffee at each of these spots and earn a punch. Once you've got seven punches, you can redeem the card at any of the seven participating cafés for a free pourover cup. Nice little way to tour through all the area's best caffeinated options and come out with a little something to show for it.
