Meritage (500 S. 20th St.) tantalized fans of elusive-in-Philly Korean fried chicken last summer, but they only kept on their menu for occasional limited engagements. Well, fans of twice-fried, spicy glazed chicken, despair no more — due to overwhelming popular demand, the restaurant has brought back the popular treat. Starting next Wednesday, April 6 (and every Wednesday and Thursday thereafter), $18 will get you a plate full of Korean fried chicken, collard greens and mac 'n' cheese. There's no word on how long this new run is supposed to last, but it would probably serve your best interests to get over there as soon as you possibly can.

Brew (1900 S. 15th St.) commemorates 12 months in official beer-boutique business this coming Monday, March 21. (Remember all the insanecrazybananas shit leading up to this point? We salute you, Brew.) And they're celebrating in style with a very limited tapping of Pliny the Younger, aka THE MOST AMAZING BEER IN THE HISTORY OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM OMG IT'S SO GOOD ONE SIP CAN CURE OSTEOPOROSIS AND A SINGLE DROP CAN BRING A DEAD WOODLAND CREATURE BACK TO LIFE the very highly regarded cult-following brew from Russian River. They're busting the beer out at 9 p.m. on the 21st, selling 8-ounce pours for $8 each. Obviously it's going to kick fast, but here's a little tip to make sure you get yours ...

The Curtis Center's Cooperage (137 S. Seventh St.), is rolling out a restaurant industry night on the third Monday of each month, beginning next week on March 21. (Now all we need is two more spots to take up the second-Monday and last-Monday mantles — Amis has got first-Monday duty covered — and we'll have a full-on biz-night marathon on the reg, yeah?)

Chef Ben Martin will offer free food from 7 to 8 p.m., plus drink specials until last call at 2 a.m. This Monday, he'll do gratis pork on weck — think the famous beef/caraway-seeded roll sandwiches native to Western New York, just swap the meat for roasted hog basted in Rogue's John John Dead Guy Ale. (After 8 p.m., they'll run $5 a pop.) Booze specials will include $4 drafts of the aforementioned beer (the Oregon brewery takes their flagship ale and barrel-ages it) and $4 pours of Four Roses bourbon. You do not need a bar/restaurant paystub to get into Cooperage industry night; just show up.

Village Belle (757 S. Front St.) will offer up its signature meatball sliders for a buck a pop tonight from 5:30 to 10 p.m. (It's National Meatball Day, apparently!) Usually available at the bar only, the dollar sliders, which originate at co-owner Joey Campanaro's NYC spot Little Owl, will be available throughout the dining room, too. Eat up.

If Drew's documentation of his whirlwind tour of New Orleans in this week's Notes from the Weekend left you cravin' Cajun and a little Nawlins swing, Chris' Jazz Cafe (1421 Sansom St.) is ready to scratch that itch for you — with a 300-pound shipment of LIVE Louisiana crawfish (this being a mere one-tenth of what they look to ship in total this year). Next Tue., March 8, Chris' is celebrating their crawdad boon and offering up the suckers all-you-can-eat style for $25 all day and all night, as well as a $5 gumbo special and a few apropos drink specials: $5 Sazeracs and Hurricanes and $3 beers from Louisiana brewer Abita. At 6:45 p.m., listen for Hoppin' John Orchestra as they march down Broad Street, heading straight to Chris' stage for a special NOLA-inspired concert. There will be complimentary slices of King Cake (no word on if they'll be hiding a plastic baby in it, but please exercise caution when chewing) and, of course ... BEEEEEADS! To sweeten the deal, a portion of proceeds will go to the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Chef/owner Mark DeNinno will be the Benjamin Buford Blue of crawfish as they remain in-season through late spring, putting the crustaceous delicacy to use in as many ways as you can imagine: crawfish boil (available in a $10 bucket special), crawfish mac-n-cheese, crawfish po'boys, crawfish mashed potatoes and what may be a Philadelphia first — Cajun crawfish cheesesteaks.

Every season or so, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board trims the fat -- the fat being wines and spirits stocked at PLCB boutiques that simply aren't selling. So they lump everything they're getting rid of into a big-ass spreadsheet (PDF), complete with their "delisted" codes, and slash prices dramatically in an effort to get the stuff off state-store shelves to make room for new booze. While it's easy to understand why some items end up on this death list (shoutout to Ed Hardy Vodka, Bailey's Chocolate Mint and Danny DeVito limoncello!), this also translates into insane savings on many notable labels (say it ain't so, liter of Courvoisier). The important thing to remember, however, is very few, if any, of these deep-discount wines and spirits will be labeled with the sale price on PLCB shelves; it's up to you to figure out which bottles are at what stores and how much they're running (use the search engine on the PLCB's site for that). If it's on the closeout list, it should ring up for the closeout price at the register. Time to bust out a highlighter, scrape some change together and bolster the home bar, yeah?

I scored the last George T. Stagg bourbon in the state system at the Society Hill store yesterday. Pretty tickled at the $38 price point on a $100 plus bottle.

Herbisant eh? I have a bottle of Vieux Carre, is Herbisant substantially different/better for sazeracs?

Listen up, people — you have only four days left to take advantage of the February deals at Old City's Zento (138 Chestnut St.) — that's 15 percent off lunch and 10 percent off dinner, offered Monday through Thursday only. For something extra-special, wink and nod and ask for some secret off-menu items, like the sizzling Bronzino Roll (avocado, cuke and fried shallots inside, hot oil-sizzled bronzino on top — how could this not be good?) and the minced tuna-, black tobiko- and masago-topped Holiday Roll. Act now and don't forget to mention the discount when you order!

We told you about the brand-new location of Makiman Sushi (1326 Spruce St.) in last week's Feeding Frenzy column. Now here are some details on their all-you-can-eat extravaganza, which goes down every Monday (including today!). Owner Peter Hong tells Meal Ticket that the AYCE selection features around 40 rolls, 20 nigiri and eight soups/salads/apps. (Some of the items — clam soup, uni, ikura, etc. — have a one-order limit.) A max of three orders per person at any given time, and there's no sharing unless everyone at your table is AYCE-ing. Gotta clean your plate before ordering more, and, like many AYCE sushi deals, you will be charged for anything you don't finish. To take advantage of the dinner-only deal, you must arrive at Makiman before 9 p.m. Cost: $24.95 a head, three bucks cheaper than at Hong's Makiman location in the NEast.

If you're gonna do an AYCE night just do it...restricting the ordering is not gonna bring the people in? You're like a gambler gambling with scared money!! $24.95 is high...and if it's $3 cheaper than the other place you mentioned then that place is crazy high!

For those of you that like AYCE you have to go to Tokyo in Deptford, across from the Mall...in the small strip mall where Salad Works is...It is the best Sushi buffet AND SUSHIMI that you'll find....and it's cheaper than $24.95....$19.99 during the week and $22.95 on weekends...plus it includes crab legs, Steak, chinese food, and so much more....and a great atmosphere...like a nightclub!
