It didn't take very long for the Shank's Original storefront at 15th and Sansom to usher in a new tenant. (Citing a need for more space, Shank's owner Phil McFillin is currently hunting for a new Philly space that's 2,000 square feet or larger.) Open since Friday, Enzo's is a new operation owned by Maria Pistorio; she's named the sandwich stop after her husband, realtor Vincenzo Tagliente. For now, Pistorio says, she's running a Shank's-style menu (breakfast sandwiches, chicken cutlet Italiano, sausage, meatballs, etc.) to keep regulars well-fed, but teases that she'll roll out a more signature menu when it gets closer to Labor Day. One thing of tasty note: They're one of a handful of Philly venues to carry the original Levis Hot Dogs, which are available here plain, Chicago-style, New York-style, as a Texas Tommy or as a classic Philly "Surf & Turf" (frank and a fishcake — the timeless 215 combo revolutionized by Abe Levis himself).

Enzo's is currently open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check out their current menu after the jump (click to enlarge).

Back in February, we told you about the "New German Cooking" chef Jeremy Nolen was putting down Thursday through Sunday at Brauhaus Schmitz (718 South St.). The Teutonic beer hall has just rolled out a new menu with a dedicated section of "Spezialitäten," or chef’s specialties, that's available every day. Think grilled pork chop with Optimator onion jam, bacon-wrapped quails and (mmm) spaetzle with calf’s liver and egg.

Gotta note, the new menu is quite nice visually, too. It's clean, spacious, well-organized, with an appealing "To Share" section of cheese, meat, fish and pickle boards, improved explanation of the wursts and little icons denoting vegetarian and gluten-free choices that look like point-earning snacks from Bubble Bobble. Grab it here in PDF form.

The AKA Rittenhouse Square's a.kitchen (135 S. 18th St.), which opened three weeks back, starts lunch service today at 11:30 a.m. (As the AKA is an extended-stay hotel, they also do breakfast.) The lunch menu, which you can peep in full after the jump (click to enlarge), is basically a truncated take on a.kitchen's dinner offerings, with the addition of sandwiches, including a "top-flight" cheesesteak rendition from chef Bryan Sikora.

This coming Monday, July 18, Opa (1311 Sansom St.), which Adam Erace determined had swagger like Zeus in his April review, will introduce lunch service with a giveaway — all comers will receive a free "toast." Before you start complaining that all you're receiving gratis is crunchy slices of rye (hey, even that would be sweet to get for free, quit your whining), know that "toast" actually refers to a Greek-style pressed sandwich; the one pictured above is layered with LanCo ham, melted manouri cheese and honey mustard (you'll get a comp side of their bangin' oregano fries, as well). Lunch at Opa, though (running weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), will feature a bunch more options beyond these sandwiches; you've also got gyros, their bifteki burger and a selection of mezedes. Peep the menu in full after the jump (click to enlarge.)

Dropped into the brand-new second location of Raw Sushi & Sake Lounge in The Piazza this weekend after the first-ever Philadelphia Vendy Awards (more on that a little later today). Three places to perch here — at the open-air bar, which is right off the Piazza grounds; the dining room, done up with movable two-tops and a big wraparound banquette; and the sushi bar, peering directly into the state-of-the-art kitchen. Dinner hours are pretty more or less identical to Raw's original location at 1225 Sansom — Sun.-Tue., 5-9:30 pm.; Wed.-Thu., 5-10:30 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 5-11:30 p.m. Management says lunch service will kick off on Monday, July 25. Check out more photos after the jump. We've also got chef Sam Yoon's opening sushi and hot-entrée menu, which features an all-new robata (Japanese barbecue skewer) section and fishy options galore. Click 'em to enlarge.

Back in April, we told you Cafe Estelle (444 N. 4th) chef/owner/pie piper Marshall Green was reprising dinner service as his daylight dynamo once a month throughout the summer. We got the menu for July’s supper, which goes down on 18th, and boyyyyy is it a doozy. Oysters. Caviar. Housemade fettuccine. We're particularly intrigued by the cheese course, an aged chevre from Cypress Grove in California, paired with tomato jam and pickled heirloom eggplant. The dinner begins at 7 p.m. and costs $75 a head. Check out the full menu after the jump, then make rezzies by calling Estelle at 215-925-5080.

Debra Ciasullo, her husband David Hentz (also the chef) and partner John Byrne quietly swung open the doors to The Blind Pig, in the former Kong space at Second and Fairmount (702 N. Second St.), a week back.

The Ranstead Room (2013 Ranstead St.), Stephen Starr's bar behind El Rey (2013 Chestnut St.), revealed its new summer cocktail list today. The menu features drinks like Tstrumble (tequila, strawberry and lemon), the Ranstead Sling (gin, Benedictine, pineapple and lemon) and the Sunflower (gin, elderflower, Combier and absinthe). For those who are unable to decide, you can still ask for a Bartender's Choice and give the mixologists the chance to create something unique for you. I don't know about you, but I’m pretty curious about this Sunflower ... check out the full menu after the jump.

Clark Gilbert picked a sweet weekend to soft-open his Gemelli on Main (4161 Main St.) — Manayunk was downright crawling with hungry folk due to its Arts Festival, providing Gilbert the opportunity to roll out his Medi/French restaurant, formerly located in Narberth, to a new crowd. He's now serving dinner nightly, with lunch Saturdays and Sundays. Both liquor license and al fresco dining are on the way, but the booze could very well be ready to go within a week's time (BYO for now). Here's Gemelli's opening menu; we've got shots of the interior after the jump.
