Daniel Stern's high-in-the-sky R2L (Two Liberty Place, 37th floor, 50 S. 16th St.) launches an 11-to-2 Sunday brunch this weekend, on Mother's Day. Peep what Sternie's serving (three courses, $45) after the jump (we would like a crab-stuffed avocado, yes we would). On Sundays moving forward, R2L will introduce an a la carte brunch menu, as well as Bloody Mary and mimosa bars.

The Arrow Swim Club (1031 Germantown Ave.) is slated to open in Northern Liberties this summer, and they've just finalized their menu. The members only swim spot will offer fare like flatbreads (with mushrooms, goat cheese, onion and thyme; mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil; or mozzarella, garlic and arugula), a variety of burgers (including falafel-veggie, tuna, turkey, and beef  and a few salads. Everything is reasonably priced between 7$ and $12 per dish, but just know that's a cost that only comes into consideration after you've paid the $1000-per-season membership fee. Take a peek at the whole thing below (click to enlarge).

Chef Brian Ricci (above) of Kennett (848 S. Second St.) has sent over a few teases off his spring menu — many dishes have already been introduced at the Queen Village restaurant, but everything should be available by May 1. NEED to eat that nettle/chanterelle/scamorza pie and those herb/yogurt chicken thighs!

Talula's Garden, the new restaurant from Aimee Olexy (backed by Stephen Starr), will open to the public this coming Wednesday, April 13 (not Monday April 11, as we previously reported). But though the opening's been shifted back 48 hours, the restaurant (210 W. Washington Square) is raring and ready to go, if a mock tasting we dropped in on this afternoon is any indication.

Chef Michael Schulson of Sampan (124 S. 13th St.) is rolling out a brand-new dim sum-style brunch menu this spring. Made up of a host of brand-new small plates at a $6 price point, the menu includes the ever-sought-after soup dumplings, minted pork bao buns, corned beef, sauerkraut and smoked mustard char siu buns — and, for the daring, chicken feet! With an effort to make the brunch an authentic dining experience, plates will be served from a custom-built wooden cart rolled through the restaurant by staff.

Larger plates will also be included on the new menu: Snap up Spanish octopus satay, or an old fried favorite, crispy crab rangoon, along with more traditional American fare done Sampan-style, like Eggs Benedict with Berkshire pork belly and sriracha hollandaise. Beverage director Michael Wirzberger will be debuting two new sip-worthy cocktails to accompany the new men, too: a Yuzu-Rosewater Mimosa and a Togarashi Bloody Mary with fresh wasabi.

Sampan's new brunch menu will be available Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all day on Sunday.

When the new Pennsylvania Convention Center broke ground, the expansion displaced a few city blocks' worth of businesses — among them Willie Bouikidis' Race Street Pizza. Undeterred by this involuntary closure, Bouikidis decided to take his business elsewhere — and after 14 months of work, he's opened 1518 Bar & Grill at 1518 Sansom. The space was formerly Black Cat Cigar Shop, and some distinct touches (like the decorative antique cash register and a dark wood bar) pay homage to that history. 1518, which is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., takes a pretty fantastic spot on a well-populated stretch of Sansom, in good immediate company with restaurants like Oyster House and Nodding Head. Although 1518 has an extensively stocked bar (and doors officially opened on St. Patrick's Day), Bouikidis maintains the the food will be front and center. Take a look at the lunch and dinner menus (click to enlarge), and a shot of the interior, after the jump.

Spring is on its way in, and as temperatures rise, foot traffic in Capogiro locations follows suit. While most visitors might be seeking out their gelato, they're also busting out a new panini menu for spring, making Capo a one-stop-shop for a light meal.

The new menu (available at Capo's 20th Street, 13th Street and UPenn locations) offers lots of options for omnivores, like a roast beef Mexican torta, a chorizo, muenster and red pepper combo on a baguette. They've kept vegetarians and comfort-seeking students in mind, too, with a customizable grilled cheese option — your choice of bread, cheese, add-ons like apple and roasted pepps and your choice of bacon and ham. (The more traditional Italian options are still available, too.) Peep the full menu after the jump.

The photos are are hanging crooked on the walls, and it's driving Jason Cichonski insane.

The former Lacroix head man is deep into his gig as opening chef at Mica (8609 Germantown Ave., 267-335-3912), owned by Blackfish's Chip Roman, but the fussy frames hanging just outside the kitchen of the former ¡Cuba! refuse to cooperate — so much so that he's temporarily abandoned his cutting board a couple times to right the asymmetrical wrongs. If you've ever tried his food at the Rittenhouse Hotel, it goes without saying that he'll apply identical attention to detail to what's rolling out into the revamped dining room at the 40-seat Modern American eatery.
