- I love Nutella as much as the next fatty, but I ain’t got skillz like this: This dude eats a whole jar of Nutella in a little over 2 minutes. No liquids to wash it down, just a spoon and a can-do attitude. The beginning is slightly reminiscent of EpicMealTime until he starts making faces that scream "OH MY GOD I JUST KNOCKED 30 YEARS OFF MY LIFE."

- Remember that Weeds episode where there’s a butter sculpture contest? Well, we have one less butter sculptor in the food art world. Butter sculptor extraordinaire Norma Lyon died on Sunday at the age of 81. She carved everything from life-size cows to “The Last Supper.” Food sculpture is one of my favorite forms of art and Norma will be sorely missed.

- We all know the Japanese make some weird snacks (meat-flavored ice cream, anyone?), but poop meat? That seems a little far-fetched. Looks like it is: Turns out that Fox News, in addition to many other media outlets, didn't check facts before publishing a story about Japanese scientists creating edible meat from human feces. Not only was the basis of the story an unverified YouTube video, but the exact same report surfaced in the news back in 1993. Fox should probably review its journalism techniques.

- Austin, Texas, home of Whole Foods, is opening the very first no-packaging grocery store in America, called In.gredients. All food is in bulk and customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable storage containers to purchase food items. The store also plans to take on the role of a community center for cooking classes, art shows and gardening workshops.

- Barcodes are such an eyesore. If only someone would do something about this increasingly unsettling problem! We’re in luck: Smaller companies are beginning to design their own "vanity barcodes." There are New York skylines, school busses, even waterfalls. Nestle is trying out the new barcodes on its smaller brands and Bear Naked granola (a subsidiary of Kellogg's) has added a blade of wheat grass to their barcode already. Looks like your fancy food just got fancier.

Jose Garces' Tinto (114 S. 20th St.) will feature a Basque-inspired prix-fixe menu to honor Pamplona's San Fermín Festival, the most famous feature of which is the annual "Running of the Bulls." The four-course small-plate menu will be available beginning on Wednesday, July 6 (actually the first day of San Fermín) and run through July 31. It costs $65 per person, with an optional Spanish wine pairing for an additional $40 per person. Check out the menu in full after the jump.

The eight finalists for Philadelphia's first-ever Vendy Awards, which we told you about in May, have just been anounced. Hit the jump to see which of your local faves will be competing for the street-food crown on July 9.

There have also been a few additions to the judges' panel since the last time we talked about it: In addition to 10 Arts' Jennifer Carroll, Philly Weekly's Brian McManus, Zahav's Michael Solomonov and yours truly, Midtown Lunch Philly's Jamie Shanker, Lindsay Lidge (wife of the Phillies' Brad Lidge) and hizzoner Mayor Michael Nutter will be ranking grub at the Piazza at Schmidts. Hope to see you there!

Rubb BBQ (4445 Main St.), the meat smoker that at one time had Adsum chef Matt Levin's name attached, has yet to make a brick-and-mortar debut in Manayunk, but the team at Belvedere Restaurant Group (Agiato, Main Street Market, Terrace Taproom) recently rolled out a mobile Rubb rig to accommodate the Yunkers' demand for 'cue. The rig, which made its debut last weekend at the Manayunk Arts Festival, will hawk its wares (Bell & Evans whole chickens, Leidy's ribs by the half and full rack, angus beef brisket) outside Main Street Market (4345 Main St.) every Saturday and Sunday from here on out. Rubb is also accepting barbecue catering orders for the Fourth of July; call 215-482-9500 for the hookup. Belvedere's Rob Nydick tells Meal Ticket that he and his partners still plan on opening Rubb as a restaurant, but are still working on zoning issues with the neighborhood.

UPDATE: Here's a pic of the Rubb rig ...

You probably have to be a reeeeal early adopter to get this one, but we just came across this amazing clip-on beer can handle while shooting photos of a brand-new bar/restaurant. Can you identify which establishment has these bad boys?

UPDATE: Tough one! Clues: Northern sector of the city ... full takeover of a short-lived restaurant ... just opened last Wednesday ... and the signature dish on the menu is Thanksgiving dinner in fried ball format.

Cheers to the Meal Ticket tipster who informs that Rosa Mexicano, the New York-based upscale Mexican restaurant with satellite locations in Jersey, D.C., Miami, Los Angeles and elsewhere, has its sights set on the old Roy's Hawaiian Fusion at 15th and Sansom. (The space was last earmarked for developer Joe Grasso's American Oak.) No further details at this time but we'll of course keep you posted. If this comes to fruition, should provide some interesting competition for the well-heeled Tequilas right down the street.

UPDATE: Hmmmm, a rep for Rosa Mexicano denies that they're poking around the vacant space. We'll keep an eye on this one.

Le Virtù (1927 E. Passyunk Ave) has got some tasty warm-weather news: They'll be serving $4 draft craft beers and $10 lamb and jumbo shrimp skewers outside at Campo, their outdoor dining space, all this summer. The lamb skewers run $10 for 10 and the jumbo shrimp will set you back $10 for three. The South Philly Abruzzese restaurant is open for dinner seven days a week, with a no-corkage BYO night every Tuesday.
