Embattled Ogontz Ave Revitalization Corp. demands investigation of leak to Inquirer

POSTED: Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 5:17 PM

The embattled Ogontz Ave Revitalization Corp., whose alleged sins were enumerated in a state report that was leaked to the Inquirer yesterday, has reacted to these allegations in a way that can only be described as strange.

While deftly avoiding any actual response to the damning allegations, the organization issued a tersely, if efficiently, worded email to its general mailing list, calling for someone, anyone to investigate who had dared to inform the media about all those terrible things they allegedly did.

The email, pictured above, features lots of exclamation points, along with some scanned images of a much more official-seeming document from OARC's lawyers, addressed to the state Office of the Attorney General and the Office of the General Counsel, who conducted the investigation.

That letter, in brief, calls for an immediate investigation and subsequent punishment of the possible mole in the attorney general or counsel (while not actually accusing them of leaking the report), and, more reasonably, asks for a copy of the state report for OARC's perusal. For some reason, this document has still not actually been shown to OARC itself.

The email to OARC's constituents provided no defense or even an explanation of the numerous accounts of misspending and questionable practices outlined in the report.
