ICE CUBE: Ron Paul Hires Local Anti-Establishment Concert-Promoting Vampire Hero As Delegate

I’ve written about Patrick Rodgers throughout every dark wave concert and dance party he promoted. I wrote about Rodgers when he began foreclosure proceedings against Wells Fargo — here he is on Colbert, with fangs — and not so very long ago when he hosted the first Uyghurian dinner in Philadelphia.

This time though, it’s a bit more serious as Rodgers’ pro-consumer/anti-bank credentials have caught the attention of the radical Ron Paul campaign. “They've asked me to run as Ron's delegate in the April GOP Primary,” says Rodgers.

Pause.

I've accepted the offer and have already scheduled Ron's first fundraiser in Philadelphia, at National Mechanics. I am stressed, but excited to be doing something different — and something I believe in.”

We’ll have more on this as things progress. Here is his press release. This should be interesting.

Ron Paul Fundraiser in Philadelphia

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) With the GOP Nomination shaping up to be more of a marathon than a sprint, Ron Paul's campaign now turns its attention to Pennsylvania. Paul's campaign has fielded a slate of delegates in all 18 of the State's congressional districts, including the two that encompass Philadelphia.

The popular vote in the Pennsylvania primary is strictly a beauty pageant. The delegates who are elected by the voters will attend the Republican National Convention in August, where they will cast their delegate vote for the candidate they support.

A Ron Paul Fundraiser on February 6th will give Philadelphia-area voters the chance to meet Paul's local delegates and sign the petitions that will put Paul's delegates on the ballot. While commentators have been speculating for weeks that Pennsylvania may be "in play" for the GOP Primary this year, Paul's aggressive drive to get a full slate of delegates on the ballot shows that he's very serious about taking a run at the Keystone State.

Philadelphia's first Ron Paul Fundraiser of the 2012 Election will take place at National Mechanics, 22 S. 3rd St., from 6:30pm-10:30pm on February 6th. Buffet dinner will be served; soda and juice are included in the meal. Donation at the door is $20. Those of voting age are welcome; guests 21 and over with proper ID may purchase drinks at the bar.

A Facebook page with details about the event.
