The Haiti Earthquake: How you can help

POSTED: Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 5:01 PM
Filed Under: News

There are a ton of organizations accepting donations to help relief efforts in Haiti following that country's devastating earthquake yesterday.

MSNBC posted a list from which you can take your pick, or you can check the official Department of State post on their DipNotes blog.

There are two options on that list that allow you to donate post haste:

Texting the word YELE to 501 501 donates $5 via your cell phone to Wyclef Jean's grassroots yele.org organization.

Texting the word HAITI to 90999 will donate $10 to the Red Cross.

More about the quake and its aftermath at The Hatian Times a New York-based English language Hatian weekly.
