On Oct. 13, Ky Cao, along with his brother Rick and college buddy Joseph Lardizabal, opened Ps & Qs, a classy men’s boutique that offers quality — and often hard to find — clothing, accessories and home goods. The owners frequently travel to L.A. and New York City to select and buy their products, always keeping an eye on the most diverse goods and companies. Their goal with the shop is to bring something original to the sometimes-looked-down-upon South Street and help rebuild the area, giving Philly’s fashion-forward gents a resource to revamp their wardrobes — and their apartments. Cao emphasizes that, instead of targeting a specific type of dude, the boutique aims to cater to anyone interested in quality goods. And though they have their share of wacky clothes, they make sure to keep clean, simple T-shirts and hoodies in stock. In addition to apparel, Ps & Qs offers a modest selection of home products, such as coffee-table books, mugs and delicious-smelling candles — so there’s even an appeal for the ladies. 820 South St., 215-592-0888, psandqs.com.
