Who wants to wear stinky old bowling shoes when you can look fetching and glamorous in Candies? You might twist an ankle when rolling for that spare... but you'll look so cool!

The perfect slide-on for summer, Candies have been vaguely de-sluttified since their '70s heyday. (Remember Daisy Duke teetering around on the spiky sandals in her short shorts?) The '90s version has a chunkier heel and comes in downright respectable shades. (As opposed to toothpaste blue.) Designers Betsey Johnson, Viviene Tam, Nicole Miller and Anna Sui have all jumped on the trend and each created their own signature Candies.

But here, on Cosmic Bowling night at New Jersey's Woodcrest Lanes (glow-in-the-dark bowling on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights), we've outfitted our model in classic shades of red and brown. We found them at Nordstrom's and Macy's for $29.95. Clothes were provided by Magazine Pret-a-Porter.
