Bummed because Brian Wilson hasn't done anything great since he
went loco in the '60s? Quell your sorrow with this double album
of orchestral surf-pop. A compilation CD of two of the last great R&B records of the '60s,
Outta Season and The Hunter. Crank it up and testify. Strummy psychedelia with lush arrangements that recall those days
of yore when Bowie and Bacharach were great. The solo project of ex-Space Needle member Jud Ehrbar. Pink Machine alternates ethereal soundscapes with strummy, lo-fi pop. Most of the stuff on the Digital Hardcore label is just plain
annoying, but these guys work funky beats and interesting samples
in between the jackhammer techno. This guy wants to be both Beck and Kris Kristofferson at the same
time and fails miserably. We just can't wait until Tim "Dorf"
Conway releases Dorf on Dorff. Don't cut those Black Sabbath ties just yet, Geezer. This middle
of the road metal-punk ain't exactly Paranoid. Everyone else is getting geared up for the '80s revival and seminal
new waver Joe Jackson is still doing classical schmaltz. Joe,
you're no longer "The Man." This is what happens when no one tells the singer of the band
he can't stay in key. Bill Whitten makes Dylan sound like Pavarotti.
First this company insults diners with mediocre food and bad decor,
now they've set their sights on music fans, serving up a compilation
of tired hits by Sugarloaf, Steve Miller and The Doobie Brothers.
