Here, Alodie Perez's gorgeous reversible coat of loden velvet
lined with gold lamé was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent's 1969
winter collection. Topped with bright green turkey feathers, the
coat is timelessly elegant. "We were asked to take a designer and interpret them in our own
way. I really love couture. Yves Saint Laurent's 1969 collection
was very luxurious, very theatrical." Underneath the coat is Perez's very '60s empire-waist dress with
bell sleeves. Much of the ensemble was sewn by hand, says Perez,
who hopes to someday have her own couture line. "Eventually I'd
like to work in a more intimate setting, with a small designer,
perhaps. That way I get to see things first hand." A perfect next step for Perez: a designer with tremendous technical
