Model: Joy Carson; Photos: Dominic Episcopo Meghan and Kimberly were faced with a creative quandary: As students
in "Problem Solving" class at Textile, they were asked to create
a dress based on the theme of "geography," use non-traditional
materials and make it for under $10. Ouch. Together the two came up with the "Volcano Dress," a flaming orange,
red and yellow design crafted out of floral arrangements, knit
fabrics and netting. "My roommate had a bunch of books on volcanoes," says Meghan,
"so we looked at those." Kimberly pipes in, "We looked at the crown of the volcano. It
had all this smoke coming out of it so that it was lit up like
the color of fire with pinks and oranges. We used that idea for
the headdress." Meghan, who loves the flamboyancy of Versace, and Kimberly, who
eventually wants to be a costume designer, came up with this dramatic,
